Art vs. Design

Updated: Apr 9, 2019

Do you know the difference?

art versus design

Art sends a different message to everyone. While design sends the same message to everyone.

Good art is interpreted. Good design is understood.

Too often, I see artistic and creative persons making poor design choices for their business or brand. Without even realizing it, bad design can communicate "unprofessional" and "amateur" to your audience. To give your business the best odds among your competition, you should be putting its best image out there.

Do no underestimate the power of good design. Colour, shape, fonts, typography, use of positive and negative space, etc. are all aspects to consider when designing content for your business. The nuances of good design can truly set you apart from your competitors. Good design communicates volumes to your audience such as your professionalism, your style and the standard or quality of good or service you have to offer.

With a little strategic direction I work with my clients to edit their creativity into better design. I help to develop communications that will attract the attention of their target audience. This is where creativity meets strategy for your business marketing solutions.
