When I introduce myself as someone who works in marketing, more often than not I am asked something along the lines of "So, you come up with advertising and promotions for your brands?"
And yes, while directing and developing advertising is part of my day to day, it is really only a small part of my overall marketing strategy. It can be one of the more fun aspects of marketing. It is the part of marketing where you get to be the most creative and develop the creative positioning of your brand. It is how you get the word out about your product or service. But it is only one of the many parts that make up your overall marketing strategy.
Marketing includes ALL the activities you do to promote your products or services.
It is the carefully crafted system designed to facilitate the interaction between your product/service and your customers. It includes:
Market research
Strategy
Positioning
Branding
Marketing communications
Design & Creation
Ideally, advertising should use the data and research collected by marketing strategies to guide how best to communicate the brand to its target audience.
There are so many "image consultants" and "social media strategists" and "brand consultants" out there and while I touch on all those things in my coaching I started this business because I wanted to offer so much more! While advertising can be fun and plays a significant role in your marketing, there is so much more to consider.
Do you have the right pricing? Are you reaching the right audience? What is your positioning? What is your value proposition? Have you considered your return on investment? How do you calculate that?... Before the ads are even developed, there are a lot of aspects of your marketing that should be developed to guide your campaign to be the most effective.
I really want to share what I have learnt over the years to teach others to think about their marketing not just creatively but strategically as well.
Whether you are looking for some insights into the right advertising and social media strategy, or maybe you are looking for the insights of a marketing manager to structure your brand's next steps... This is where creativity meets strategy for your marketing solutions. Get in touch today.

Thanks for such a thorough explanation on what video marketing is and how to properly utilize it for your brand. I enjoyed learning a lot from your article and have taken up this issue with my product. I created several videos which I uploaded to different social networks of our brand, but in order to upload to Instagram I had to convert the video to a different format, here is a detailed description of how to do it, I think it will be useful for those who work a lot with video.
